Volunteer work on CV

Hey all,
Been job hunting since redundancy at the start of Aug. Ive done some office based voluntary work for a national charity, data entry etc on a project they have, and am wondering how best to put it on my CV.
My CV is chronological, with most recent employment first. Do I put the voluntary work in there before my most recent paid job, or in a separate section titled Voluntary Work? I want it clear that I have not done nothing during my period of unemployment even though it is only one day a week and not especially linked to my profession (obviously job hunt too).
Cheers.

I would put it in like any other job but mark it down as 'temp' or 'Voluntary work'. This would alert employers that you aren't job hopping a few months after starting a new role.0

Remember to include any new skills you have have gained whilst undertaking volunteering. Working in a different industry can be described as widening experience or perhaps applying existing skills in different situations, thus demonstrating flexibility.0

Do this OP.
Alternatively you can have a separate section for it later down on your resume if you feel that it doesn't highlight your skills as well as your work experience, and at a certain point you can just leave it off.0 -
I dis some voluntary work recently and I put it on my CV as if it was a normal job, but marked it with voluntary so employers would not think that I was going to do a runner the minute a better offer comes in
I know that putting my voluntary work on my CV helped me to find work0 -
Thanks all. I try both ways of listing it and see what works best.
Cheers!0
