Lidl are advertising a perfume for around £4 that is supposed to have beaten one from Chanel in blind tests (not specified which Chanel). Has anyone tried it? Any good?

I can't stand it. But what does and doesn't smell nice is a very subjective thing, and it does smell similar to some much more expensive perfumes. I can understand how some people might like it but to me it smells overpowering and old ladyish0

I think it smells lovely. I would be interested to see if it lasts as long as the more expensive perfumes.Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0

It was Coco Mademoiselle that it was put up against but the "test" was simply a vote of which of the two you prefer "immediately" after it was applied.
I've never cross compared the two but allegedly it is a softer smell and when you survey X number of people the softer ones do normally win because they have broader appeal. If you like the scents in Coco Mademoiselle, or any perfume, you are more likely to like the stronger version. If you dont, you;ll prefer the softer one.
A quick google and looking on perfume forums shows most think its obv good value compared to Chanel but is much weaker and doesnt last anywhere near as long/ doesnt dispiate as well once the top notes have gone.0 -
The Madame Glamour is not to my liking, but they have a matching roll on deodorant and seem to have a gift set of matching body lotion and shower gel at Christmas time.
I prefer the Suddenly Diamonds which they introduced for Valentine's day. It was on offer of two bottles for £7. Has been back in at £3.99. I think I read somewhere it is supposed to smell like Boss Orange (please someone correct me if I am wrong).
Neither probably have the staying power of a more expensive perfume but at four quid a bottle I am not complaining.0 -
I've had the one from Lidl and it was just awful, it smells ok at first but drys down to the nastiest cheapest smell that never seems to go away, it was so bad I couldn't even use it as air freshner.0

I have both Diamonds and Suddenly Madame Glamour! Both smell really nice in my opinion. Apparently in a blind test 80% of people preferred Diamonds to a bottle of perfume from Harrods costing £300. They don't last very long but you can afford to spray a bit more! I keep an atomiser in my handbag if I want a top up. I'm also using Illamasqua Freak too.. I prefer that but the Lidl stuff is nice and I'm not complaining for the price!0

Not all Lidls seem to sell it. I managed to track it down and used the tester. OH said, well I won't repeat it but he offered to buy me some of the "lovely stuff you had on the other day".
Other stuff was Cabochard. It was formulated in the 1950s and is still made. Bought it for £14.99 online, for 100 mls Eau de parfum.0
