My wife has asked me to pick her up some on my way home later from superdrug but looking online i cant find them. I am currently visiting family so cant get a prescription from her. I dont think she has a prescription, i recall her saying to get them at superdrug is about £4.00 cheaper than if she went to the doctor.

I hate picking up things like this. I wish she would just do it because i have no clue when it comes to buying products like this.

I think this is something that is likely to be OTC which means you need to find a pharmacy counter to ask for it rather than being able to pick it up from a shelf.

Yep you can, you'll have to go to the pharmacy counter though to ask for it. They'll ask if your doctor knows your taking it but if you explain that it's for your wife and her doctor knows, then they should give it to you. It's about £2.50 for 60 tablets in my local sainsbury's.

Morning, I actually did this yesterday, I,m getting low on my tablets so whilst in the supermarket I popped over to the "pharmacy" and got 84 for £4:14 more tablets and half the price of a script.

  • They're just iron pils; there are a couple of different varieties (ferrous fumarate being another). Just pick up a pack of iron supplements, check it's ferrous sulphate - job done.

Yes and no- They are indeed iron tablets but the prescription strength dosage is 200mg per tablet which is that the OP requires. These doses are prescribed for medical reasons.

Standard Iron vitamin tablet doses off the shelf are about 14mg. So not really suitable for what the OP needs.
  • Excellent. I'll pop down to the superdrug pharmacy now and pick some up. Thanks for the help :)
