Tesco online substitute items questions

1. If they substitute an item and the new item costs more than the original item, do I have to pay the difference or do I just pay the price for the original item?
2. Can I reject a substitute when the delivery arrives, if I don't like it?
3. If I reject a substitute, how will a refund be given and how quickly?

    1) Tesco price match substitutions, so if the cost is higher you will pay the original lower price.
    2) yes, no problem.
    3) It goes back onto your payment method, so subject to however long that payment method takes to clear.

    1) I ordered a Meal Deal (4 items for £10) and they substituted a cheaper item. Then because the substitute was not part of the deal they attempted to charge me the full price for each component which came to over £18.

    2) I rejected all 4 items at the time they were delivered.

    3) There was no sign of a refund for the 4 rejected items until I contacted Customer Services. After I did so the refund appeared within a couple of days.
