Job Advice help needed

I require help and advice, and apologise if this is the wrong forum. I am currently employed, on a part time 16 hour contract, but off work sick, and have been for 8 weeks. Getting full pay. I have a disability which affects my mobility, muscle pain and mental functioning. I am studying for a Master Degree on a 2nd year Part Time Course. My work is creating stress, which is unhelpful to my illness. I feel that I may have to give up work, due to illness, and concentrate on my degree, with a voluntary placement as part of it. Please can anyone advise me on my financial position if I were to give up my job and concentrate on my course as i'm struggling to do both.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you

If you voluntarily leave a job you are unlikely to be awarded benefits for a period of time, which may be several weeks.
If you are on long-term sick and your employer decides to switch you onto SSP, or terminate your contract due to 'frustration of terms' - your physical inability to continue working - you are more likely to get some state help.
If you are able to work if you give up your course, you would need to consider the ethical position of deliberately rendering yourself unfit to work due to study and living off the state for an indeterminate period.
You might say that if you complete your study you will be in a better position to contribute more to society once you have completed the course and are qualified and able to work. Those choices are yours.
