I was wondering whether anyone has tried doing the 5:2 in reverse, ie 5 days fasting and 2 days normal eating? I am currently doing a VLCD and wondered if it was possible!

Sounds like a recipe for starving yourself and eventually rebounding and binging like a maniac.0

Sounds most unhealthy to me, would leave your body severely lacking in essential nutrients and if it would be intended for weight loss, how could it work long term. Anyone can loose some weight if they really set their mind to it, but the only way to keep it off is to learn a new eating pattern which will sustain good health and eliminate junk food and excess. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. How low is your calorie count - 600?
Are you thinking of doing the VLCD for 2 days, eat normally 1 day, VLCD for 3 days, eat normally 1 day?0 -

is that called the 80:20 where people allow themselves treats at the weekend and as long as they are eating healthily 80% of the time they are likely to either maintain or lose weight. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

It's a version of intermittent fasting - http://thefastdiet.co.uk/
Ettenna - I know people who have done alternate days and I think that's better for the body than doing several consecutive fast days.0 -
Sounds very, very healthy and not a long term way to lose weight. I personally feel you would be much better off by simply cutting your everyday eating by 200 calories. No more goo hoarding!
