Where is the cheapest place to buy nuts and dried fruit please?
Hi folks. We are trying to eat a bit healthier so out has gone the crisps and chocolate and we are replacing with fruit and nuts. These however seem very expensive. I buy from Aldi or sometimes if I run out Waitrose. Is there anywhere cheaper please that you can recommend? Many thanks

Poundland have a really good range. I love their carabao mango, dried pitted dates, and plain cashews.0

Almonds are exceptional for health benefits and I get mine at Aldi, 1.29 quid for 185g.0

I'm fairly sure that they do, yes.0 -

Mr T's are doing a good deal on 750g bags of almonds and cashews (might be slightly smaller bags) for £5, and Indian brand I think. Plus their Christmas nuts in shells are 2 bags for £5, although they are not particularly huge. I also bought 100g bags of pecans and flaked almonds for my baking stash from Mr T after copious research on MySupermarket. A word of warning though: there is a big difference between price of the standard bags and the "wholefoods" brand.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

If they have a decent offer on, Holland and Barratt are good for dried fruit because the quality is really good, I think they use Neals Yard or something to source the fruit.
I've tried the poundland stuff but it tends to be overly chewy and with added sugar in and a bit too dry- not everything I'm sure, just everything I've tried.
Lidl also do decent dried fruit, limited in what pack size and types you can get but the quality is really good.
Tesco and Sainsburys and so on are just too expensive and most of the time the fruit is overly dried and too chewy, maybe good for baking but not for general eating, they do stock Whitworths (think this is the brand?) though which is a good standard of quality though again not cheap.0 -

). So instead I ended up at Tesco.
Very rarely do they get my pound.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

have you got a weigh and save shop, they tend to be reasonably priced, I use to use one in Exmouth (south Devon), we use to holiday Oct half term, so I got everything for the xmas cake.
it may be worth looking in a local market, xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
you'll probably find lots of baking offers coming up as the supermarkets get ready for people baking Christmas cakes & puddings.0

www.grapetree.co.uk has branches in various parts of the country.
They sometimes do half price on their stuff. They sell a large selection of dried fruit, nuts, seeds amongst others. Also sell larger amounts of some herbs and spices. It's owned by the people who used to run Julian Graves. HTH.0
