Advent calendar fillers

I need inspiration what to put in the childrens' advent calendar, girl age 8, boy will be almost 6.
History, last year I bought a wooden advent calendar and put little presents inside for the kids, in previous years they had the playmobil and lego ones but the girls lego one seemed more of the same so wanted to do something else.
Last year I did
For DD
moshi monsters
nail varnish
mini notebook
Hair clips etc
pens
For DS
bakugan
star wars fighter pods
moshi monsters
This year I am really struggling for ideas, DD isn't really into anything, she likes doing loom bands but I can't see her still wanting them at christmas, she has more nail varnish than a salon and barely ever wears it.
DS would be simple, I could buy a lego advent and decant it, or a playmobil one but I don't want DD to feel she missed out.
I can't buy the cheap chocolate ones due to allergies.
Any ideas out there? Thanks

I'd go and check out places like poundland for ideas as they have got lots of cool stuff now, more so for girls.0

If your DD likes stationary how about a pack of novelty erasers, they often come in packs of 4-6 and you may find some Xmas themed ones. Another idea for maybe both of them is buy a sheet of stickers cut to fit in the calendar so they get a few stickers at a time, the puffy ones would be good, again you could probably find Xmas ones0

I try to make mine a mix of things, some days sweets like chocolate Santa or Snowmen, small toys and cute Christmas decorations they can hang on the tree, they love these, I usually buy a nice box of figures and divide them up and but them in the weekend days.
I know is a lot harder to use sweets when allergies are involved. My friend's kids are allergic to a lot of things and generally can't eat the Christmas sweets so she wraps the things they can eat in some Christmassy way.
I have been scouring Home bargains picking up things like the horrible histories figures, the deadliest animal ones, Angry birds star wars erasers etc. They also have some nice girly erasers. My boys like bouncy balls and you can get a bag of 15 for £1 in poundland . They also have Hot wheels cars for a pound. Stickers go down well with my kids too.
If you have an Ikea near you they do packs of finger puppets and other little soft toys. I have used these before and they go down well. They had gorgeous little dragon ones I picked up.
Hawkins Bizarre has quite a few things too but they are a bit more expensive. Try the party bag fillers section in Asda or Tesco too.
There are so many more things for girl's out there. I have seen lovely little lip gloss pots. Try Claire's they have such a variety, maybe some earrings, they have some lovely clip on ones as well as pierced.0 -
My girls love loom bands, they will be getting some smelly bands and charms as part of their advent. I also do notes which lead to bigger things that won't fit in, such as a craft activity or dvd at the weekend. Hair accessories, bobbles or clips always go down well too.0

Thank-you all for the ideas, the town Poundland was hopeless last week but i will keep popping in, I have Christmas hats from the next sale last year for door 1 , i found them when I was tidying my presents box (clearly they won't fit but I will put directions where to find them in the door). No Home Bargains but may take a trip later in the week to a bigger town to see what I can find and take a trip to Claire's whilst there for clips etc. Also remembered crafty crocodiles so ordered a few bits off there.0
