Hi there
Does anyone have any recipes for making a homemade dishwasher cleaner - I'm thinking bicarb & white vinegar could be a good start
Many thanks in advance

http://youtu.be/8NkYwmG2vTs makes a dishwasher detergent, I haven't tried it yet but I have tried his homemade handwash http://youtu.be/5-DKT6w3AdQ and it worked out great, just used a full kettle of boiling water rather than try to figure out US gallons.Penny xxx

Is borax available anywhere? It seems to be in every recipe for dishwasher powder.Penny xxx

Have a read of this from Mumsnet, they say it's not available anymore but you can get a substitute.

Just spotted this video, it's a bit long winded but good recipe for laundry detergent http://youtu.be/vMT6HMPNaCQ now I understand why borax is banned for personal use in the E.U. Never knew it had possible harmful effects. Still on the lookout for dishwasher powder recipe without borax.Penny xxx

Not sure if you mean a dishwasher cleaner that you use once a month or a general cleaner that washes your pots every time you use it?....if it's just a general dishwasher powder/liquid try using soap nuts, there is a good rwecipe here:http://notjustgreenfingers.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/a-washing-up-dishwasher-trial-using-soap-nuts/0
