hey all
i started a new job on the 1st august (now i get to actually see hubby lol)
i went for the job as it was offered to me as 2 weeks training and then a team leader role for a company that was setting up a brand new centre (well established company just a new location)
so the training turned out to be about 30 minutes lol and since then i have naturally fallen into the team leader role (with all of the responsibilities extra hours and all the other stuff such as approving holidays) but there is nothing official in place and none of the perks that were previously offered have come into place
it was agreed that i would have a company car and after 3 months a pay rise if i was doing well
i spoke with the manager today and they are 'working things out' with regards to the company car and they are still assessing me for the pay rise
i have met with the MD and other very senior managers who have already said that the new location would have failed without me
how do i get them to pull their finger out over the company car and making me the official team leader without a negative response?
my first thought is to cut back to the work that all the rest are doing and drop all of my team leader work but that just seems a bit childish and it may backfire on me
any ideas?

Patience is a virtue. As it's a new set up, no doubt senior management have many things to deal with.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Just keep on at them and make sure they know you are not happy with the lack of progress on the remuneration side of things.
Make your issues the one they want to solve over the others.
Prioritize your time and delegate so you do less overtime if it is done without pay or negotiate overtime till the rest of the package is sorted.0 -
i managed to leave on time tonight which was a bonus lol
we had someone leave today which means im taking on an even bigger workload to cover until we get a new member of staff - but i have been asked to assist with the interviews
and an update on the company car is that the new ones have been ordered and i know they have ordered one more than they need for people who are getting the new ones so fingers crossedThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
Is it possible to gather 'evidence' of your superiors contentment with your work at the higher grade? Do you have any emails congratulating you on work you have done or performance reports to show you are performing well at the next grade? This could help in convincing them that you are worthy of the pay rise at the review point.
Perhaps you could take the initiative and email your managers outlining the work you have done in a "just for info" way eg
Dear X,
I just wanted to update you on the progress of establishing our new site. To date I have completed the following activities.....then provide a list of any targets met, benefits that have been gained etc

thanks bad skin thats a great idea i have loads of emails from senior managers saying how impressed they are with XYZ will put them all together and i will pull them out at review time
i have weekly catch ups with my direct manager where we always set a target for that week and then a longer term one and then we look at whether i have achieved it or not each week or what i can do to improve on it further i may ask him to start confirming what we have discussed over email
we are quite lucky that senior managers are in and out all the time and are very hands on so they see a lot of the stuff i am doing but im sure it wouldnt hurt to remind them
