12 dates of Christmas

Options
I love this idea, but am realy struggling with what the dates could be.

So one could be a picnic and one a barbeque in the summer and one could be a winter version with hot chocolate and maybe a nip of something to keep the chills out. A comedy night and probably travelodge in nearby city. Dinner at home.

Any other suggestions?

We do the christmas films, nice way to spend the chilly evenings! Also agree on the going out to find awesome light displays! If you can get a discount, or feel flush a trip to a local coffee shop/well known coffee shop to try their holiday specials!

  • Did this for my wife this year she seems to have enjoyed it. Most of my ideas were free ones and they were a mixture of things to do with our 2 year old and without our 2 year old.

Some of the ideas I used were
    - a night in playing on the wii / board games
    - a trip to the cinema
    - a picnic
    - a glass of wine on the patio star-gazing (there's an app you can download for free to help you identify constellations)
    - let's go fly a kite
    - a walk along the beach / rock-pooling
    - cooking a meal together that we hadn't tried before (we usually cook for each other)
    - a trip to the theatre (we have a good local theatre we don't frequent very often)
    - a trip to a food festival (local one - and the date was already advertised at Xmas)

I can't remember the rest I am afraid, and they are rather tailored to my wife's hobbies/ interests.

  • I did this for my hubby Christmas 2013 and am planning to do it again this year. It has been fantastic! We did
    Night in a quiet hotel
    Fruit picking
    Visit to a maze
    Sunset picnic
    Leaf walk
    Theatre to see a comedian
    Cosy film night
Meal out to a restaurant we've never tried before
    Bowling
    Cinema

Can't recall others, but I tried to do things we used to do as well as some new things. See what's coming up next year on local events calendars for ideas.
I put the money for each activity and tickets or leaflets for it in each envelope too.
Need to plan mine for this Christmas now!
    Hope that helps!

    Pizza & DVD
    Full-moon-lit stroll in a park
Carol concert (or scratch Messiah, or Anything where you'll All sing)
A night volunteering (if there are no checks required)

Most of which come in at free or under a fiver each - have fun!
