Wheeled Luggage

Hi,

I need to purchase some new luggage and have been looking at getting a wheeled suitcase.

Where are the good places to go to get these? Currently, I’ve only been to Debenhams and TK Maxx in Belfast, but I would be willing to try Antrim, Ballymena or possibly Lisburn/Spricefield if there was a good selection.

One thing about the wheeled luggage concerns me – my two previous cases failed when the wheels buckled. Can these be easily replaced or is it always going to be end of life for the case?

I’ve looked at the spinners and I’m not overly keen on them and the wheels are even more exposed and probably too small for some of the surfaces I’ll be using it on.

Thanks.

I got a great set in Argos a few years ago, all be it at their world famous 75% RO sales :T I have used these a bit and they have been loaned out frequently to family and have traveled around the world, not a mark on them and the wheels and extending handles still all operational. The set I got are strong (yet light) black canvas with a plastic supporting inner.

They are quite similar to their 2 piece set selling for £25 at present

These are cheap but reliable and have even survived Ryanair a few times :rotfl:

I wouldn't be paying a fortune for something you are likely to use twice a year if your lucky;)
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:
  • I have a cheap and cheerful red and navy polyester/canvas/fabric one I got in some bargain shoe shop years ago (smallish - does for weekends away). It's the type you wheel along behind you with two wheels

If money was no object I'd go for one with four wheels, much easier to manoeuvre
NO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE :D:D
  • as you are willing to travel to antrim I know the poundstretcher in castle mall sells these, they did the job for me
    mortui non mordent
  • Do you have an Antler outlet store near you? Got a brilliant 4 wheel one from there at a good price (Wouldn't go back to two wheels now)

the colouful one we got in Dunnes Stores has lasted pretty well. It's a two wheeler and they are fairly sturdy. Bigger wheels so they roll a bit easier.

I have two antler ones, both bought from tk maxx and holding up very well indeed after several years. i believe there is an antler outlet in junction one, though it mightn't be worth making a special trip for, tk maxx are usually pretty good but might be a bit depleted in stock at the end of the summer season

I've had my Antler case for around 15 years and it's still going strong. Not a mark on it and easily wheeled

Antler in junction one is the place to go.
  • John Lewis. Oh, once again the City fathers in Belfast have managed to stifle business (cf Ryanair and Belfast City Airport).
