getting a mortgaes when on disability benfits

Hi

Is is possability to get a mortgaes when your only income is disability benfits. I ask because I a disability student about to do my 3rd year at uni but have no one to live. The uni say they can not help. I can not found any where to rant which I can get my wheelchair into. Also with ranted places, is I spend money making it usable than in 6months to years I have to do again. I thinking buying may in the long team but batter. Can anyone help me ?
