Why is it that OHs get stroppy and that that you are nagging when they know that they are in the wrong!
This month has been really tough both cars car tax is up so we had to find £200.00.
I saw the envelope on the side and knew what it was before it was even opened - bank charges! I was so cross - we have only just got our money back from the claim for bank charges and not even 2 months later and we have our first £30.00 charge. To say I was cross was an understatement
The excuse was that he forgot when he checked his balance that he had written a cheque to pay for the car tax. This was after the defensiveness and "well we knew this month was going to be tight".
Sorry rant over

Well to go from the psychology angle... when humans know they've done something wrong instinct to try and either correct the mistake or hide it kicks in, when this isn't possible we know we're going to get caught, and our defences go up...
Not saying you shouldn't tell him off, but make him write the letter to the bank to get the charge back, and perhaps help him set up a spreadsheet to keep track of everything so that he's not checking balances at the cashpoint where forgetfulness about payments can happen!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

That is true ym..... I will edit my post to 'partners' instead of 'men'! I know pre LBM, I had a FAR worse spending problem than OH! Now I've just got an MSE addiction

Feel free to refer to 'men'. It is amazing that i can see so much of me in these posts (Pre LBM). That is the reason i am in debt. Blinkers on spending like there is no tomorrow(Unorganized) and trying to please everyone. It was because of posts like these (and a diary) that i opened my eyes and am sorting out my problems. If someone else will benefit from seeing themselves mirrored in these sort of threads and wakes up to how their partner feels all the better:T :T :T :T . Now if you dont mind i have dinner to do,hoovering and might watch a bit of the golf :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Take care
