hi there
i need to make a cake but i've just spotted i have no butter/marg does anyone have a recipe using oil for a sandwich cake - also can this be made with yogurt as i have quite a lot of fat free natural yog (or does the fact it's fat free mean it wont work)

You can make a sponge without any fat at all-just sugar, flour and eggs. They are best eaten fresh (but will freeze) so if want something that keeps for a few days you do need to add fat.0

Hi, yes you can easily make a cake with oil and yogurt.If you do a quick google,'cake made with oil' brings up quite a few suggestions.I do a lemon drizzle but unfortunately a lot of my cook books are still in storage after moving so I havent got it to hand sorry.
There is also a thread on here somewhere started by Mr. Bad Example and he does a chocolate yogurt cake made with oil.HTH
