Which debt should I clear first?

  • Another vote for clearing the credit card, that is definitely what I would do.

I'm a huge advocate of snowballing but to make the best of the short time left on your 0% period get rid of it while you can. £3k is a nice chunk to clear interest free and it will feel great to have it out of the way and just the loan to focus your efforts on.

    Good luck!

Payday today so I've just paid £200 off the credit card before I can dwell on it any more :D
It feels so good to take a chunk out of the outstanding balance, I'm hoping to have paid it down to under £1,000 by Christmas :j

  • How much do you have free each month to pay back capital?

The card looks like the way to go, but the equation may be affected by the amount you can overpay.

I know interest rates are pretty low at the moment, but if the card is the one to repay, it is best to put your cash in an interest bearing savings account, and withdraw it all just before the 0% offer period runs out. Every little helps.
