Limescale protection from Kettles

I'm getting a new kettle but it's stainless steel. Any tips on how to prevent Limescale getting on the lid. Spout and inside? My old kettle is ruined by it, especially on the lid and spout areas. I can't use Viakal (which is really good) because it says not to use on electric appliances x

I don't think you can prevent it, but regular descaling with vinegar should prevent too much build up.0

You could try something like this - the limescale supposedly collects on it, instead of the kettle
