You could be sued for breach of contract and made to pay any costs (after they have made attempts to minimise their costs).
Its unlikely they will bother but it has been known. They could also of course let your new employers know of your professionalism etcDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Perhaps one issue you have is lack of research on the opportunities that are on offer.
Usually pretty easy to find out if a company is sub standard before starting.
If your goal is technical progression this is something you can work on along side a suitable job.0
