Hi
Hope this is the right forum. I registered with HMRC as self-employed almost two-three weeks ago and still haven't heard back from them. Is that normal?
Thanks, Id appreciate if anyone can help or advise me

Did you register online? Two to three weeks is not an excessive time to wait for a reply from HMRC. You should eventually get a Direct Debit form for Class 2 NI contributions and an exemption form is your earnings are expected to be low. You should also get your UTR.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Yes, I registered online and already have a UTR (I was self-employed before). I just need confirmation that I'm officially registered as self-employed.

Registering online is the best way to do it: nothing could have gone astray in the post.
How long ago were you self employed? Did you officially inform HMRC that you had ceased trading?
If there is a big gap, they may well give you another UTR.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

I was last self-employed two years ago but my old account still exists and I officially ended it.
I was just wondering how long usually HMRC takes. I know things take ages to all bureaucratic things, but I thought 2 weeks would be enough!0
