% year fix is not that suitable for a loan tat is likely to be paid off in 3.

    APR are meaningless for mortgages.

They have lots of options e.g 3 year fix 2.94 etc

    £24k paying £695 @ 3.99% paid off in 37months (£1536 interest)

If they will let you pay at £695
    @ 2.49% 2y 1y 3.99% paid off in 3 years £996 interest so save <1 payment.

if not payment will be £360pm with £335 overpayment till the 10% is used up then save then another 10% year 2 saving will be even less.

You might be better off looking for some stooze money and maxing out the overpayments on the SVR

Hi yes if they wont let us reduce term and set up new 2yr fix and 1 yr varible deal then ill just overpay everything we can till its done, i could more or less clear it now but want a little behind us just incase of work issues etc, but either way 3 yrs we will be done. and like you have said we will only save a months payment through switching rates, would prob need to pay another £10,000 off to save the same amount of intrest.
