How to post an entry?

Options
Hi,

I've never done postal competitions before, but i have decided i want to do 1 or 2 a week.

I've read that you can post your entry on a postcard, and also on the back of a sealed envelope.....

But can i put my name and phone number inside the envelope on small record card, or is that seen as a faux pas in postal competition terms?

  • Personally I wouldn't risk it incase they just throw it away without looking at it x

They usually like you to enter exactly as they've asked, so writing your details on the back where they are visible is your best chance.

As has been said you need to read the actual competition T&C's, currently ITV and channel 5 allow within an envelope while channel 4 do not and others will vary as well (If your postal address is not asked for then don't give it)

    Channel 5
Entries should be sent either on a postcard, or on/in a sealed envelope

    Channel 4
on a stamped postcard or back of a sealed envelope to

    ITV
on a postcard or on or within an envelope
  • Thank You :D

Thank you for asking this, I was actually going to post a thread on this exact subject myself.

I always post inside an envelope unless the rules specifically say on the back of one. I always worry that someone who works with the post will phone me and tell me I've won as a joke. :o:D

I said the same thing to my Partner this afternoon! :o
  • I was also wondering. The penny dopped when I posted two postal entries and put my details on a notepad and then I put INSIDE an envelope😯. These were for ITV.
