Hi all,
I am just looking for a little advice on claiming bank charges and being in an IVA. I know this is the debt thread but I was wondering if anyone who is in the same position as me has done this and what was the out come?
We started the IVA in April and believe me it was such a weight off our minds, we can now actually afford to eat!!!!! Anyway enought of the feel soory for me, I have been hearing lots about reclainming bank charges but never thought I could do it, but before I ruke it out completley I would just like some advice as to If because we are in an IVA does this mean that we cannot calim the charges back from the banks, they would get 50% bacj anyway in the IVA agreement but surley if they have charged us incorrectly we have a right to soem of that money back. however because an IVA writes off some of your debt will they just say your bank charges were included in this?
Also when you write to your banks for the statement of charges is it £10 for each account of is it £10 to each bank?
I am sorry for rambling just dont want to pay the £10 if we wont get anything back.
Thank you to you all.

Hi
Ive just posted a similar thing, I didnt see yours! I set up an IVA in March and then sent off my bank charge letter. I was offered £1360 which I accepted, and the bank eventually wrote to me saying they had sent my cheque to the IVA company and they wont give me any of it because it was for over £500!!! Ive posted a thread to see if anyone knows a way around it. If there isnt I wouldnt bother if I were you. With regards to the £10, its for each account. Good luck:beer:0
