Diva's diary to debt free

Hi!
I am starting a diary here as Ive done some debt free bits and pieces today and feel I want to write them down so I can keep myself reminded how far Ill be going!
As a quick start, debt stands at £14311.67. Mixture of 2 CC's, 3 catalogues, car finance and a sofa.
All manageable but I am able to tighten my belt and get paid off as quick as possible. From my geeky spreadsheet, Ill be debt free 31st May 2016 but if I can knock some months off that I will be over the moon.
So today.... well am smoking my way through my last pack of cigarettes - I dont even enjoy smoking so I feel the time is right to give up. That'll save me £25 a week!
Sold some bits on Ebay so paid £10 off one catalogue (payment needed was only £5 so I doubled it!) and £14.30 off credit card with highest APR. More stuff listed on eBay so hopefully some extra cash over the next week or so.
I also won £31 on Bingo last night. Cost me £9 to go so still up on cash giving me £22 to use on food shop this week. This means I shouldnt need to touch the bank account until Monday at least!

Thank you!
Not much to report today. Battling with ordering a fitness set I want. It will cost £150 (taken as 3 monthly payments) but means I can do the exercise I want at home as I cannot get to a gym. I realllly want it but its such a lot of money.0 -
Do you have to order the set right now, Diva? How about break down the £150 into an amount you can manage and save it all in advance then order the kit. I know it sucks to wait but at least that way you'll have started the habit of saving before spending and won't be tied to the 3 monthly payments.0

I only want to because then I can exercise which will make me feel better but I have decided to wait until after Christmas and use christmas money :A
Had a good day yesterday, really proud that although I had a VIP slot booked for the Next sale, I didnt log on or order anything. I can usually spend £100 plus easily for my toddler on their clothes. She really does have lots of stuff already and I would have only been buying it because its cute, not because she needs it.
I sold 2 items on ebay as well making around £11 after fees and postage so thats going towards the Aqua card. I have lots of stuff to list on there so need to get motivated and get it listed.
Today is Macmillan coffee morning that my eldest is running at her school so going to pop along there. Will be taking toddler who Ill buy a little cupcake for but nothing for me due to diet and funds.
And I am ecstatic that I am out of my overdraft!!! I have £102 without going near overdraft and Monday is pay day so with this new found determination I wont be in OD now which is a weight off my mind.
Today is going to be a good day, I can feel it!0 -
I forgot to mention when starting my diary, I have a sealed money box at home and started putting all silver coins I had in it. I have continued each day since August and already its feeling quite heavy! No idea how much will be in there when its full but its quite a big pot. I know its only something little but it feels to me like I am saving something!0

Evening!
Well I only went and got a little extra earner! Doing some delivering for a local fast food place as and when they need extra pair of hands (or wheels!). They called tonight and want me again tomorrow! Not sure how much it will be pay wise but even if £40 a week for the 6 hours then its extra to help pay off my debts. So relieved. Things are looking up.0 -
Good afternoon!
Its been a couple of weeks since I have updated on here.
Im not doing to bad, have so far in October paid £403.29 off my debt and have another £397.45 to pay until 31st October meaning £800.74 off my debts this month. It does not seem to make much of a dent as the debts are spread between creditors but thinking what Ill be able to do with £800 a month when I am debt free in 18 months is keeping me focused!0 -

Don't want to put a dampener on this but check your insurance as it would very likely be excluded. you don't want a fine and increased insuranceTotally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0
