I know that people are going to read this and wonder about my level of maths skills but please could someone tell me is there an easy way to keep record of how much you're spending?

When I go to a supermarket and do a weekly shop, I try to use a calculator but I lose track and if I do it in my head I end up over budgeting as I try to round everything up.

I sometimes use the self scan and pack service which is great as the hand scanner calculates as you shop but I really would like to get back to using cash - Waitrose only accept cards for this service.

Any tips or advice please? many thanks. :)
