Self scanners

I had two vouchers rejected on a self scanner - just said it wouldn't accept them - th e bar code on them both started with 912 - not sure if some codes won't go through. (it would save me the embarrassment another time!) (the bar code didn't end in 000)

I remember someone here saying that scannable vouchers have to start with 99 - maybe that's why yours didn't work?

what about somerfield self scan tills? do they take any old vouchers?

I had a £5 off Tesco voucher for wines or baby stuff and put it through the self scanner without buying any of the named products and it worked just fine.
