    Given lenders stress test affordability. Doesn't really matter. You need an alternative plan for the time being.

    OP seriously, get some proper financial advice from several IFA's, ask about asset protection inthe form of a trust.

    With the very real chance of future care home fees looming, and the dismal outlook for 'self funders' over the 23k means test threshold you might be wiser investing it in hookers and crack.
