So I have come to a point many people do where I have realised if I want to have baby no 2 now would be the time, but after paying for childcare for number 1?for the past 3 years (he has just started school ) I have realised today that the only way I can afford it is to tackle our debt as the monthly payments to them are the same as our nursery bill would be I never thought I would be in this position having a family shouldn't come down to cost but I'm sure I am not the only one????
First task tomorrow is to add up the total we owe and take it from there

Hi :hello:welcome to the family.
We're currently trying to lower our debt outgoings too so that we can hopefully have our #3 (would be the last i might add)
Am currently in my early 30's and ideally don't want to have a child in my 40's.
Have you already done a SOA or have your own budgeting plan in place? If not and you want to post you SOA on here there are plenty of people here that can give you some guidance and tips on how you can cut your bills.
Will be subscribing to see how your getting on as i've just starting my DF diary too- we can do it together!

Hello to u both, I will be popping over to see you later:beer:
Just a quick check in before having to get little man to school (he only started a couple of weeks ago so we are either really happy to go or really don't want to lol ).
I have decided to pay of my huge childcare bill before I work out my totals some will get paid through childcare vouchers the other through my very small amount of savings as I suppose this would be classed as a debt as he no longer goes.
I have tried to do a budget but it is really hard when the OH is determined to fill our house with stuff we don't need I think I need to work on him a bit you ever know one day I might convince him we don't need HD TV lol x
See u soon I can hear shuffling from upstairs x0 -
I find the OH is a hard nut to crack too. He hasn't had his lightbulb  yet and if we can service our debts ok he cant see why we need to get rid of them any sooner.
I've given us both budgeted amounts to spend without feeling guilty and this seems to work day to day. Harder trying to persuade him we don't need any electrical gadgets mind- although this probably contributed to our debt in the first place.
My DS is 3 and just started Part-time school too and having to compete with him and my 8 year old DD in the morning so I feel your pain re getting ready for school :grouphug:Total Debt:

I can't imagine how hard it must be to stay on track with only one of you on board. White-as-Snow's pocket money idea sounds great.
Can you and OH sit down and do a bit of future planning? Take a look at what realistic costs having another baby would incur and put it out there how important it is to you. Might put a HDTV in perspective. Hope you can get together on this!0 -
Thank you both I might wait till tomorrow for that chat I have just got up and gone in the fridge and realised he has knocked the temp setting (for the 4th time) and turned the bl00dy thing up, so I am going have to chuck out about £25 quids worth of stuff and I spent ages last night baking a cheescake as a treat as we have done 3 weeks at school with no drama so far, if I talk to oh about things now I might just throttle him lol x0

Hi
If the fridge has only recently been turned off and your house is not like a hot house it is unlikely that very much has gone off or will spoil, even if it is a fridge freezer as long as nothing has defrosted it will be fine. Use sight and smell test to check. If it is frozen meat cook it asap and it will be safe.
Last night's cheese cake certainly should be OK.
Good luck.

ETA sorry misread as turned fridge off, just ignore me LOLThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
