Veggie/Vegans in Belfast

I don't think there is a single exclusively vegetarian restaurant in Belfast now - just some who offer vegetarian dishes which aren't always very palatable.
Unless anyone out there knows any different?0 -
What happened to the Hare Krishna one? Or was it dublin I saw that in?“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0

I'm de-lurking as I'm a veggie from Northern Ireland
Unfortunately there are no veggie/vegan restaurants here. Most places will have a veggie option which tends to be pasta or risotto, so not really imaginative!
Home in Belfast is good and they have separate menus for veggies and vegans. I know you said Belfast, but the best meals I have had were at the Limetree in Limavady as they do something a little different. If you are ever in the area it is worth a trip.
As for my normal day to day food I shop in Tesco. I eat either Quorn or I make something from scratch.
Feel free to ask if there is anything else you would like to know. I have been a veggie now for 20 years.0 -

It was in Bradbury Place in the 80's/90's. Served great food at very reaonable prices.
There was also a fantastic 'wholefood' vegetarian where the Crescent Arts Centre is now. Alas no more.0 -

Hi Alisara, Trip Advisor has details and reviews of veggie restaurants in Belfast, maybe you could find something suitable there. Quite frankly, I don't think it would be possible to completely avoid meat and/or dairy products, but limiting our consumption has to be beneficial to both us and the animals. More power to your elbow!0

I can't post links yet but if you do a search for homebelfast.co.uk they have the menus on their website.
Made in Belfast is also good madeinbelfastni.com.

Thanks Biscuit, jenheiffer and Tickled. Looked up Homes menu and looks gorgeous and found a place on trip advisor called Giro, sounds interesting. Has anyone tried Eatwell on Lisburn Road?0

Facebook is your friend. There are loads of vegan NI, Ireland, UK pages with lots of information. I'm vegan and can eat quite happily from every major supermarket in NI without a problem, I can eat out and function normally amongst my friends! There is nothing to fear being vegan in NI just do research, join a few vegan groups and ask lots of questions.
