Better deals at former LA Fitness clubs (now Sports Direct Fitness)

I'm a bit late to the party here, but recently discovered that my local LA fitness has been sold (along with a few others) to Sports Direct Fitness.

I've been checking out fees etc to see if there's a better deal to be had and found that membership can range from £10 a month (if you pay 5 years in advance ) to £35 (on a monthly, no contract basis). You can also opt out of the classes (so membership is just pool and gym) to reduce the costs. Last time I asked about membership they quoted me £45/month...

I have no idea what the quality of the new sports direct gyms will be (elements of the local one were looking tired last time I was there), but it seems that even the no contract deal is better than paying previous prices.
