Good Afternoon, what a busy day I've had. Started off going for our flu jabs at the drs for 10 with Ruby and Riley in tow. Even managed to get Riley s done today instead of November. Met Dawn in town to hand the kids back but went to Mc Donald s first to get them some free food.
Went to Tesco for some free pop, they still haven t got the mags in my Tesco Extra , hopeless but I got a "few" yesterday from a small country Tesco about 10 miles away but was going there anyway.
Went back to Mc Donald's and had my free dinner , chicken sandwich fries and a drink. Saw my friend bootsalebargains in there she introduced me to this forum a couple of years ago lol. We exchanged a few freebies and bargains. By then I was too tired to go round all the shops I wanted to look round so just went to a few.
Got £20 of stuff from the body shop for £10 with an O2 priority code and used my birthday month for a shower gel and soap and paid 90p. Then got 5 for £5 worth of sale items at Claire s Boutique or whatever it's called.
Received my £125 M & S voucher in the post today only 2 and a half weeks after my start date which was good. I had to phone up first though to make sure it was for £125 and not £100 as it didnt say.
Last but not least I opened an account online a couple of days ago so that I can switch to the Co op anytime now . All in all a good productive day
You have had a productive day. Weve had rain and hail stones all dayso not been out of the house:(
Can I ask how you get free food from mc d please? Is it with the app?
I had to delete some of mine... Not enough memory space:(
Thank you0 -

:o:oI wouldn't. It never goes down very well. Not that I have too much personal experience - it's extremely difficult for the words to come out in the right way orally with me.
I wouldn't quote laws to general staff. Occasionally I might do so to CS and used to in the past but that was before I learned it doesn't go down well* or is not usually the best way of proceeding. There is a lot on goodwill rather than strict law. I'd almost never mention law nowadays (to CSs) and only at a last resort. That if I was ever able to do so in an effective manner, but my Asperger's makes it really difficult (in a number of ways).
*Nearly everyone else, of course, (1) would know this automatically, intuitively and (2) wouldn't know the detail, or name, of the law anyway (a pre-requisite, I would suggest, in order to be able to mention it in the first place).
What really frustrates me is the ignorance on the Sale of Goods Act with faulty items, and the improvement offered by EU law.
Just this week at Asda they tried to tell me it did not apply to them, and they could make up their own rules by not refunding or replacing a faulty item (and not for the first time).
These CS people bug the hell out of me0 -
Just back from a lovely walk around Durham indoor market. I love the roof.
Its Victorian and made of cast iron. I swear you can buy anything there.

You know how lots of clothes have sparkly beads and jewels on them nowadays eg t shirts even sweatshirts which are usually dearer ,well in Poundland they have a nice array of necklaces, bracelets etc that would do the job just as well and for a fraction of the price.:)0

It seems we have a 12 month rolling sick pay policy. I've just gone back to work following 6 months off sick. I need another operation and am likely to be off long term again, just need to know where I stand really.
If I was off 1st April - 1st October 2014 (dates not quite right, have rounded up!) does that mean my sick record wouldn't be "clear" until 1st October 2015, or is it done from the the first date of sickness if it is a lengthy one, so therefore 1st April 2015?
I get 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay, I went back just before my half pay kicked in (although that would have been made up to nearly full pay as I'm in the group insurance scheme, but thats another story). I was advised that if I went back for a minimum of 6 months before being off again, that would "reset" my sick pay and I would then be re-entitled to 6 months full pay again, but now I'm not so sure.
Just trying to make plans now ready for when I get an op date, so i know whether to get saving or not!
Hi my OH has a similar system where he works regarding sick pay.
If you were off sick between 1st April - 1st October 2014 then your 12 months sick entitlement would run from 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015. So theoretically your next 12 months sick entitlemant would start 1st April 2015.
Some employers do have a limit on how long you need to be back at work before they pay sick pay again.
Do you have your contract to hand, it should be written in that?
You could ask your employer for a copy of the sick pay policy.:)'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
