Just watching "Unreported World".
I am sad to say my new garage is like a palace compared to what the Lebanese refugees are living in.
Sorry it has just really upset me. Having never had much money before it's not feeling good at the moment how much we spent on it.
Not forgetting what I have loaded my bit up with.....
(((X))) Tinyshoes sorry I don't know what to say I haven't watched the programme but don't get upset.0 -

All you need to add is yeast; a pack of easy bake dried yeast is ~80p and lasts ages - maybe 10+ loaves, or you can use a sachet @ 28p per twinpack; sugar, about a teaspoon and a pinch of salt. That's all that's in a standard white loaf.
Making fancy loaves with eggs and fruit etc will obviously cost more, but when I used my breadmaker that's all I put in my bread and it was great!
All the fats etc in mass produced bread today are a result of the Chorleywood process which you may find interesting reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorleywood_bread_processMrsBartolozzi wrote: »I did say "around" 3 loaves, in case you are making rolls or a different shaped loaf in the oven. You need to use some for kneading and shaping.
You can actually use plain flour for bread, or a mix of plain and bread flour. If you are making a wholemeal loaf you will probably need to add a vitamin C tablet to help it rise, or to leave the dough to rise for longer before baking. Making half wholemeal and half white (ie brown) seems to rise about as well as white iirc.
I really used to love HM bread and pizza dough, but now it's just me at home most of the time I don't bother. I really could polish off a loaf myself:eek:, so don't need the temptation!Evangeline1971 wrote: »Costs to run breadmaker according to Which:

Can't wait to show OH this, it's not often I can prove him wrong but now he's got no excuse for moaning about my breadmakerI don't know why I didn't google this 2 years ago

Thanks that all sounds betterWhen The Fun Stops Stop0 -
I have one womble left from tonight in the waiting. Very unlikely to be anything though - 50p cup soups, Heinz Beanz I]sic:p[/I, Don Simon, Pot Noodles and £3.50 Anchor Spread:(. Also they bought Ryvita Crispbread at £1, at the wrong time obviously as should have bought it when it was more expensive and at £1 at a rival.
Btw, speaking of beans, let's do a switch to something else;) - Branston Beans & Sausages 405g are on 3 for £2 in M. So maybe Avs M in 3s?
No good though as Heinz version with Sausages went down to a rare 50p straight in A recently, so stocked up very heavily back then. And S/P vs Eday Value version of course cheaper.0 -
Have to disagree with you there Anon, this is the one gadget we have never got tired of.
Just speaking from experience where Mrs Anon pestered for one and it still hasn't been used.
Can't complain though as we got it free on Freecycle.
Worth asking on there as lots will be unused.

How do I keep an eye on amazon warehouse deals? I've heard of them but never actually done it. I know they're one of the most unused kitchen gadgets, but I also know that Panasonic ones sell second hand for around £50-60, so wouldn't be losing much, if anything, if I didn't use it much and wanted to sell it on.
It's more of a difficult decision because it's something I've wanted for ages, not just a whim because I saw it on hot deals. If I knew it was just a whim I'd be able to persuade myself against buying it more easily.
I just look for the item on Amazon then look on the Used link as that will bring some up if they have any or in the search results it has Offers From prices below the main price.

Thanks. Looks like Bolognese Sauce (I'd choose that as it's more gs.:D:D), and Pasta Sauce - Tomato & Basil and Tomato & Roasted Garlic vs M then.
Could have changed:(, if this comp. from a few days ago was under the Monday collection outcome rather than Wednesday's. Tomato & Roasted Garlic result is from today (so it is the Wednesday one). I don't think M have Chargilled or ...Wild Mushroom - don't know though, as these small sizes normally don't interest me (not worth straight 99p prices:rotfl:).0 -
