If anyone knows what to do with it or have any recipes as I have to prove to dad I don't waste money.

Am assuming that pomegranate molasses is the same as pomegranate sauce. You can use it with chicken, turkey, duck and lamb. There are some recipes in the link below - mainly it seems to be brushed on meat as a glaze before roasting.

Strangely, I just googled sugar free Christmas cake and found a recipe requiring pomegranate pur!e. So maybe it could be used to replace the sugar in a fruit cake?

  • It's used in Middle Eastern cookery, so if you've got any cookery books dealing with that region, check through them and if you don't, maybe get some out of the library.

One of mine (Veggistan) has a little note on it/ It says it "makes a great marinade for just about anything (yes, including fish and meat.) Great for sweet and sour dishes - mix with soy and honey and mustard. A drizzle in salad dressings and soups adds unexpected fruitiness."

Another of my cookery books has 2 recipes where small amounts are used with aubergine, so I suppose it goes well with that, and there are 2 more recipes where it's drizzled over soft cheese and figs.

  • Google Novella pomegranate molasses - she has lots of recipes that use it.
