Sky/Virgin package wins

We are currently on Virgin Media and I am just curious to know a couple of things. If you win a prize and you are already with that company do they cancel your payments for a year then when it's finished you pay again? Is this the same if you are not on the full package that the prize is?

Have anyone ever won a package and then at the end of 12 months cancelled it?

Reason is I keep seeing comps to win 12months with Sky and we are currently locked into a contract with Virgin (only on a medium)

I won a Sky package and was with Virgin but in the last month However with the comp I won - you had 12 months to take up the Sky package

I won a yrs subs to Sky with Real Radio & was already a Sky customer. They replaced the box & gave us the next 12 months for free.

i won a years sub to sky . We already had sky package in hubbys name ( different surnames) . I had to say that I was happy to use to the free year to be used on my husbands account.

At the end of the year about month to go they sent a letter through to say we would be charged again from that date.

We also got a new box installed.
There was 12 months to claim the prize and we left claiming almost the end of that year ( i think there was 3 weeks left) as we moved house and took a while to get organised with claiming but no problem as they consulted their list of people who had won 12 months subs ( didn't know that they would have had one!) .

works & a year free
