    Thanks, SillyVixen.

If I had to guess, I think I suffer from dry eye - probably due to wearing lenses every day for the past 15 years.
I think that dry eye is now aggravated by the lenses
Maybe the lenses also aren't allowing enough oxygen to the eye, too.

Assuming that they say I CAN carry on wearing lenses, but a different kind, I'm concerned that they'll be too expensive for me, as the ones I've been wearing for the last 8 years are really cheap in comparison to most daily lenses I see online.
(cross that bridge if/when we get there, I guess)

And Thanks for your concern regarding my stress levels! :)
I've got alot on my mind at the moment, and this is just one more thing.
Bit like if you're in a casino and have just lost your life savings, you don't get too stressed when the waiter spills wine on your shoes....

just get things checked out hon! the fact that you have posted here as you have suggests you realise you have a problem. just seek profesional advise once you have that - you can make an informed decision on how you proceed.
all the best, just make that appointment and then you will be armed with the information to deal with it.

    Went to the opticians
After using all of the machines and then having the guy take a good look in my eye he told me he was referring me to the hospital!
    Slightly scary.

After a 3 hour wait and thinking the worst, I saw the specialist.

However, luckily my own diagnosis was about right!

I should have been an eye Doctor instead of a warehouse slave! :)

Given me some drops to fight of any possible infection that he doesn't think I actually have.
Also given my some dry eye gel.

Going forward, and regarding any future contact lens use,the specialist said ''it's up to you''.
Kind of surprising. I thought he was gonna tell me to never wear lenses again, and particularly the brand i'd been using.
Basically said that the tear film in my eyes are damaged and that I have lots of dry spots. Contact lense wear will aggravate it, but he didn't say I couldn't carry on wearing them when i've finished the drops.

Plan for now is to use the antibiotic drops and give my eyes a rest for another week

Looks like your hospital appointment came through very quickly!

I've got a bit of dry-eye trouble, too. I managed to get some ointment on amazon, but it's not helping much.

The fit/size was fine. Same size as the ones I was initially supplied.
  • red circles around the eyes are the signal of internal deficiency of vitamins. It is important to consult your physician as soon as possible.Else you can also use bimatoprost eye drop to treat eye infections, but before applying this eye drop please consult your doctor.

Ignore this advice! Bimatoprost is used for treating glaucoma and not infections. And there is certainly no factual evidence behind his claims about vitamins.
