Hello,
I'm trying to start out on a DMP with CCCS and i'm struggling to setup a new bank account (as most of my debt is with my current bank) I've applied to First Direct and Alliance & Leicester and been turned down at both? i've applied for a current account with no credit card and no overdraft? I was very honest about my debts when setting up the account - should i be glossing over it a little?
if anyone knows of an easy bank to get in with please let me know.
Cheers

The Co-op, Nationwide and Barclays will give a 'basic' account to you if you are bankrupt, so being on a DMP should present no problems.
A list of other basic accounts can be found here:

i know that most banks now go through credit checks when people apply for a new account. my ex OH had hi own business but due to an old CCJ the only bank account he could get ( he already had one with halifax but they weren't very nice and wanted to open another elsewhere) was a very basic one with barclays. He only got a cash card, not even electron or solo card just a hole in the wall one. He can still have DD and standing orders out of it too. So as for being upfront about your debts, it depends how your credit check comes back to them. If its a very basic account your after then try barclays. hope this helps0
