Will I ever win?

  • generally comping shouldnt be done with the sole hope of winning quickly. its the luck of the draw. youve just got to fill in & forget. dont be thinking oh i entered so & so but didnt win..

ive entered loads but couldnt tell you what ive entered, and ive had a few wins. nothing big or life changing, rugby tickets, jackets, a few books.. but i wasnt expecting any of them. i enjoy the essence of surprise with comping, enter, forget and when a prize turns up its nice.
  • I did loads in July/August but not so many in September and I didn't think for one minute that I'd win anything. I had an email on Monday to say that I'd won a spa break from a comp I'd entered in August.

I think it just takes time and lots of entries.

No expectations = no disappointment :)
Wishing everyone the best of luck. :)

Wins since July 2014: Spa break and fake tan, Nikon D5300 kit, two tickets to Grand Designs Live, Original Source shower gel, tickets to Festive Gift Fair, a pair of smart wool socks, Frozen DVD and CD, a trip to Oslo, a Braun shaver and £150 Amazon vouchers. :)

Are you doing them in end date order? Obviously if yes, all those will have finished. If you're entering them randomly, there's probably not that many that have even finished yet.

I've had some rubbish wins this year despite entering literally hundreds every week. Was very lucky in my first year (five years ago), but not so good since. Really can't remember the last outstanding prize I won!

2024 wins: *must start comping again!*
  • Thanks everyone. I'm off work at present due to the fact I should have moved mid August so at a loose end. Just thought I'd try comping to see if I get lucky.
I generally just try comps as they come up so maybe I will get lucky on comps where there is a late closing date.
On another note do you normally get an email notifying you of a win or do things randomly turn up?

Don't think of comping as a winning mission, think of it as a day dreaming mission.. a bit like window shopping..

As I am entering I think of each prize and sort of day dream as I go along.. oooh would put that t.v in the kids bedroom if I won it, oohh just picturing that knife set on my kitchen top.. a few seconds dreaming then on to the next one to dream about that one... the dreams will never run out. An actual win is great but I am quite happy just comping away and dreaming about all the amazing things I now have a chance of actually owning!
