If I earn under my 944L threshold, do I get a refund?

Sorry if it's the wrong place.
I ended up working at Asda last year and I only did a few months of it, yet still paid tax. I had the 944L tax code for that year but haven't been contacted by HMRC yet?
What do I do in this instance as the money would really help about now.

They won't call you. You need to call them.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Were you on any benefits during the tax year ? Some benefits are classed as taxable and use up some of your personal allowance. You'd need your P60 from your employer and your P45 from the DWP if appropriate. Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............0
