FiT Application Processing Time.

Hi All,

So I applied for my FiT last week with SSE (my supplier) and received an email this week stating that the processing time is 12-16 weeks.

Is this normal????

Hate to think what their turn around time for payments will be...

Anyone have any experience applying with SSE, did it really take that long?

No idea how long, but I would ring them and give them my current reading.

I helped a friend set his FITs payment up and "double checked" to make sure they had received the details.

Even though I knew they had, I used the opportunity to give them the current reading, as many now seem to wait as long as possible, and then ring you and ask for today's read.

If I were you, I'd feel like backdating the reading too;)

Just had a look at my application so far to EDF and and the dates were as follows..

    Application emailed August 11th
They requested Meter reading August 15th
They sent me terms to print, sign and return by post on September 12th which i did the next day

    Not sure what happens next!

  • They asked for a reading if you email your application so I provided one the day I emailed. As I've had no other contact I'm assuming that's the start reading they'll use.

I think I'm going to call them up and check. :)

Got what i guess is the final email before i start submitting readings and getting payments today! 39 days after the original application. Not bad EDF!

Thank you for returning your signed Statement of Terms. We can confirm that your generation system has now been fully accredited with OFGEM (The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets).

We’re delighted you have invested in renewable generation, and chosen EDF Energy to be your FIT Licensee. By generating your own electricity on-site you are helping the UK to meet its climate change commitments, creating a greener future and saving you money.

EDF Energy is also committed to creating a more sustainable future. That’s why we launched ‘Our Climate Commitments’ and pledged to reduce the intensity of the CO2 emissions from our electricity production by 60% by 2020.

Please remember to submit your meter readings
We are dedicated to providing you with regular FIT payments. To help us do this we need to know how much your FIT installation is generating. We will send you a quarterly reminder to provide a meter reading in March, June, September and December.

    Payment
We will pay you for the electricity generated (and exported if applicable), within no more than 90 days of the end of your meter reading month. Our current performance in this area is improving all the time with the majority of payments now being made in less than 28 days from the date we obtain your reading..

If you have any questions regarding payment or any aspect of our FIT scheme, please contact our dedicated Feed in Tariff Team on 0800 404 9087* or email us at feedintariffs@edfenergy.com

    Hi WWM,
    In answer to your questions
A,Last install of mine took nearly 5 months to register
    B,It is with them
    C,Yes it did
As for paying the FiT, try 2 months from meter read....although they are implementing a new system come january to bring that down to within a couple of weeks(allegedly, we shall see)
    2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)
  • Friend of mine is with sse her payments take 12wks if she is lucky.
I've been with Eon nearly 12mnths & payments have been made within 10days.Long may it continue!!
  • I'm afraid that SSE took a long time processing our FiT application - some months in fact. From installation in November, the first reading was requested in the following March although of course it was backdated to the registration date.

Payments are similarly slow - at least two months, although I was told recently that they are changing (?) their systems in December so things might improve! Also, apparently, they are planning something so customers can access their account online, as with gas and electricity.

Not really very impressed with their speed, but we do get the payments eventually! If EDF /E-ON(?) can do it, why can't SSE??:(
