Rekindling this thread to ask whether anyone knows if the WD40 trick will work on matte painted walls?

Darling daughter has just drawn me a picture

I think I may have the paint somewhere in the garage, but would rather not have to resort to this. Don't you just love toddlers.
  • I tend to use those new Flash Stain away to get rid of almost anything on on walls and furniture - except FELT TIPS and BEROLS!!! So all my little son has got is crayons and he can use felt tips at Play groups.

Be carefull not to over rub with the 'stain aways' will remove abit of the paint too. But not too noticable unless its gloss paint, but I would rather use that then to redecorate or leave the crayons, little hand prints etc there.

Cost around 3 Pounds and I think JML does it for the same price but bigger pack. Seen this on offer in Boots.

    Thanks.

I saw this in Boots last week and almost bought it. How typical is that.

Will have to live with it until I next go into town. As you say, far preferable to dreaded redecoration.
  • Got the flash erasers and they worked - nice one. Took a bit of the paint off too, but hey, I can live with that.
    :D

Edited to add that I also tried WD40 on an inconspicuous area and no - it doesn't work on matte paint - leaves a big greasy mark to replace the crayon it removed.
  • Great to hear it works!
  • I need your help guys. DS has just put a line of red wax crayon across our living room carpet. I have to have it removed before DH gets home tonight:rolleyes:
Before I try anything I thought I would check with you knowledgable folk!
    Thanks!!

I seem to think that milk gets rid of wax crayon - perhaps best wait for someone to confirm before you tackle the carpet though!

My darling son has brightly coloured the steps on his bed, which is varnished light pine. I left it - was actually quite well done! Anyway - now want to sell the bed and trying to clean the crayon off, but its being very stubborn. Even had bleach and toothbrush on it but its still hanging around. Im worried about eaving bleach on incase it seriously eats in to the arnish. Any suggestions?!
    Thank you

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
