Obviously a scam but how to stop it?

Have received a text from 80876 saying: "Congratulations! You have been chosen! Just reply MOBIE to complete your draw entry. Please ignore if not requested."

I do occasionally enter text comps, but the name MOBIE means nothing to me, and my Googling shows that number up as spam, but how do I stop it?

Is it true that texting STOP can open up the chance for them to charge me extortionate amounts?

Only messages sent from four, five or six-digit numbers can make a premium charge to your phone. If you believe this has happened, then contact your operator's customer services department. You can report any premium rate messages to the regulator, PhonepayPlus

Might be worth checking that you haven't been charged to receive the text.

go to account settings and click block and type the number in.
