Tax on materenity pay?

hi does any clever being out there know if I would be taxed on sat mat pay £112p/w?
Just trying to work out finances etc.

If you were previously on PAYE through your employer then chances areyes you will be. However, if you intend on not going back after the 6 months and having 6 months unpaid you would then be able to claim this back at the end of the tax year. I am not sure of how much but to give a rough idea, NI after £80 is 11% (so 11% of £42) and then you get a tax free weekly amount of around £100 so 22% of £12. As I say, these are very rough figures but you will get tax & NI on the amount you are being paid for MP.0

You may not realise (i didnt !) that when claiming tax credits etc they dont cound the first £100 of maternity pay, so when filling out the forms knock off the £100, we have just been credited with a few quid because of this.,0
