I got an original magazine from his birth year. It took a while to find though. I bought mine from an antique fair. But there are often some on ebay. He thought it was wonderful to see everything that was happening the year he was born!
Perhaps you could give us some more info on his likes, past hobbies, jobs etc.
Sometimes a hamper made up of luxury items can be appreciated!0 -
What about a meal out? I know that all my new Grand parents just love a day out, or a meal with the family. They don't want things but they all seem to love a social - ha ha!

The mag is great idea, he used to be a printer and loves birdwatching. I know they are members of national trust and RSPB. He is a dear family friend who doesnt live near me so something i can post would be better.?????????0
