This is probably in the complete wrong forum but im on the Preparing for winter thread so trying to merge the two things (winter and moving) together. I'm after any tips on how to do things cheaper or if ive forgotten something so bear with me. I've inherited a house (Currently rent)
New House:
Its a complete shell.
Kitchen:
Had new back door and new windows (Double glazed)
Had electrics re-wired
Had walls boared (thermal on outer facing walls) and plastered
Tiled the floor (well, dad has!)
Now needs:
Kitchen base for sink (Have old units, going to update them with new doors etc)
Decorating (I want to half tile and half board)
Need blinds for the kitchen
Bathroom:
All ready to go - almost
Need to fix leak on sink and fix plug in sink
Want new towels but not essential
Living room:
Chimney breast needs plasterboarding
Need to decorate (Wall papering)
Need new carpets
Need blinds / curtains
Stairs:
Ordered new front door
Need blinds
My room:
Had walk in wardrobes built
Finish wall papering
Paint inside wardrobes and install clothe rails and shelf
install lights in wardobe (dad doing)
New carpet
New blinds
DD1 Room
Ripped old boiler out and have had combi installed
Plaster walls where old boiler was?
redecrate
Lay my old bedroom carpet from old house
Put up shelves
DD2 Room
Already decorated
put in old carpet from DD1's room at old house
House
Had loft insulation (free)
doesnt need Cavity wall
Had a new roof
Had new radiators in every room
Outside:
Lawns have been cut
have moved general rubbish
Need to knock down coal bunker and old shed
Move shed to new house - freezer and tumble dryer going in shed
look at buying a garage
Old House:
Summer clothes, washed and vac packed
winter clothes all washed and ready to go
de-clutter EVERYWHERE
Hand notice in with landlord
Pack stuff - boxes free from work
Take girls trampoline down - move to new house - COVER!
MOVE IN!!!!
Clean house ready for landlord
