Star Wars fancy dress

Options
Does anyone have any ideas for a Star Wars fancy dress costume? I'm female & a bit chubbier than I ought to be so don't really fancy the "sexy/slutty" options usually available in women's fancy dress!

What I'm really struggling with is the fact that I've never seen Star Wars!!:rotfl:

Anyone got any suggestions? I don't really want to but an expensive ready made outfit.

    *giggle*

Now as a tiny well padded girl I'd so go for Darth Vader.. he is cool if nothing else!!

    Are you making/improvising a costume?

google female Jedi plus size.. a few combo's come up. Queen Amidala also has some covered up outfits. There is always the trusty 'storm trooper' suit.. or an ewok. Princess Leia has that long white dress and her hair in snails if that one is acceptable. Darth Maul.. ?? get busy with the face paints ;)

Where are you going and can I come!?? I'm most excited on your behalf!!

    But Darth Vader is coolest!!

  • Thanks. I'd rather cobble something together from what I've got at home but looking at some of those suggestions I'm not sure that will be possible.

I've quite a fabric stash so might be able to run something up. The Leia dress sounds like a good idea. I'm not plus size but not comfortable going out in a bikini either!!!

The fancy dress plus sizes fit from about 12/14 .. they aren't generous sizes!

I went to a Star Wars party a couple of years ago as an Ewok! It was really easy.

I wore a fuzzy brown hoodie with bear ears (got this cheap on eBay from a Chinese seller, but you could always get a regular hoodie and sew some ears on), brown leggings, fuzzy brown socks and a brown head scarf.

Make up wise I outlined my eyes in black eyeshadow and drew on a black nose.

Finally I accessoried with a big stick with a glued on 'spear head' made of silver card. Glad I didn't try too hard with that one, as I later broke it in a light saber duel.

One word of warning though- Ewoks were the Jar Jar Binks of the 1980s. People either thought the costume was adorable or a total mockery of Star Wars :p

My O.H is a massive Star Wars fan and has several themed dressing gowns/ bath robes .at least if you get one you can make use of it afterwards.
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.
