Skin Care Routine - Oily/Combination Skin

Hello everyone. :)

Just after some advice really. I am in need of a new skin care routine. Although on a budget, I am more interested in value for money.

My skin is oily combination, and I tend to get a few blackheads in my chin area. My skin does suffer from the odd spot and breakout, as well as redness. In addition to this it is a little sensitive (particularly to facial scrubs - Neutrogena seems to be the only one I've got on with).

Can anybody recommend any products and brands to use for my skin? I am preferably looking for a cleanser or facial wash and moisturiser.

Thanks in advance.

I have got combination skin with oily T zone. I have got on best with Anne French cleansing milk. Boots glycerine and rosewater as toner and original cocoa butter.

Also nivea mens moisturiser worked wonders. OH got it for Christmas and refuses to go anywhere near nivea or moisturiser :D

Aquerious cream works well as well as moisturiser.
  • I have oily skin and I love cleansing with oil. If you google the oil cleansing method you hold find a lot of helpful information on it if you want to give it a go.
    No more goo hoarding!

  • Thanks both for your comments.

Linda32, I have never heard of the brand Anne French before, I will have to look into this. :)

pirateyqueen - Thanks for the advice, I have always avoided oils due to my oily skin. (I know I shouldn't)! Will definitely have a look at some reviews of cleansing oils.

  • Have a look at the B. range by Superdrug. I have combination skin but the oily bits are VERY oily. I use their melting gel cleanser and their stage 2 day anhd night cream. The cleanser is a bit weirs but it's really good and shifts even stubborn waterproof mascara with no irritation., It;s basically a clear gel which you put on to dry skin. As you massage it in it starts for feel less gel like and more like an oil. You then rinse off with water. You only need a tiny pea sized blob so a tube lasts for AGES. It's not badly proced and you'll often find it on 3 for 2 or half price skincare events at Superdrug. Best of all it;s cruelty free and vegan friendly!
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?
  • I use Eucerin dermo purifier from boots and there face scrub they have a range, find they work brillant, then for odd spots clinque clearing gel, expensive but worth it , dont get any reactions to any of them!
  • I've been getting on well with the Amie range recently. I have oily skin too, and I think I was making the mistake of using foaming washes etc that were too harsh and making the problem worse! They're nice and gentle, but effective - and use a lot of natural ingredients too! :)
