Hello and welcome to my diary ,we are due to start a DMP with stepchange on the 1st of October we are here for the long haul approx 14 years  I just wish I had known about a DMP sooner
But anyway that's by the by ,I have been so worried about money and due to reduced income (we are self employed )we found ourselves unable to manage , we have been living off cc. I deal with the finances ,and kept it to myself putting on a front , but It got that i didn't know where to turn, even though I have been a lurker on here for years only ever knew about Iva and bankruptcy, and was too scared to do any of them . Literally in 8 weeks my life has turned completely around. Strangely enough im glad I haven't got the ccs anymore to rely on, I am having to use real money and think about what im spending I feel liberated that my creditors know ,and that its all being dealt with ,I am no longer in that dark place anymore .

Well checked the new bank account this morning ,the dd are all set up and are coming out as they should, It seems strange to actually have some real cash in the bank thanks to 1 month of £1 token payments , Its ages since that's happened.Just cant wait to see that first payment go out to stepchange,i will feel so much better then.Im so scared the bank will refuse the payments .0

Am popping by to say well done :T-
I haven't taken the dmp step yet but have set up token payments to get a breather - bt am going to have to do something soon - we are in very similar position- self employed for 12 years, income reduced due to recession, never picked up, but enough work coming int o keep having a go....spent 2 years paying 1700 per month to CC's , 3/4 of that in interest.
