After deliberating about whether to do an IVA or DMP I spoke to Payplan and have set up a DMP starting in August. Feels such a relief.
I owe £31,844 (actually less than I thought as I had paid off some little ones) and after everything is paid for I'll have a surplus of £430 which will go to the DMP. This should mean I'm debt free in just over 6 years. Seems a long way off mind.
I've been wracking my brains on how to make some extra money that can a) increase my payments to the DMP and b) give me a little extra each month. I'm going on Saturday for a bar job interview! Wish me luck! It only pays £5.50 p/hr but every little helps.
I would urge anyone who is in debt and worrying like mad - do something aboutit. I can't believe how much relief I've felt since sorting it out. I'm sure there will be bad days and good days but at least its being sorted.
