    Hi ChrisBee,

    My questions/tips:

    Questions:
    • Are the amounts you are paying minimum payments?
    • Where does the £270 go every month?
    • Find out your aprs because this will help highlight the debts that are costing you the most to pay and so which ones are better for you to settle with your compensation. You can usually offer 70% full and final settlement on the total amount owed. You will find a letter here that will help you make offers to settle your debts.
    • Is there just you? The main reason I ask is that the food figure seems quite high. I would suggest you take a visit to Old Style forum for some tips on cutting back on the food bills.
    Notes/Tips:
    • I think you might have missed off a few things: TV Licence, MOT/Tax for car,etc
    • It might be worth you keeping a spending diary for the next couple of months, it will highlight areas where you could cut back more.
    • I would enter your debts, payments and interest rates into the snowball calculator here, it will help highlight the areas to pay off first and when you are likely to be debt-free.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
