What has the uni said about the possibility of finishing your degree when your health improves?

Why is it unfair? You received tuition, you used the university's facilities. The fact that you didn't get a degree in the end of it is irrelevant really, you aren't paying for a qualification (that's just the proof you completed the course), you are paying for an education, which you received.

An education that will be no good to the OP without the all important grade at the end of it, you cant say to a prospective employer,

"its ok, I've done the course, I know how to do the job, but I have no way to prove it, when can I start ?".

I think its a little unfair on the OP, to be honest.

Sorry to hear of the ME. Any chance you can complete the course at all - or finish it off with OU to bump up the credits to degree level later. Seems a shame to lose all the work you have put in.

But as others have said the money was for the tuition you did receive - and unfortunately your illness to them is irrelevant- though not of course to you.

I'd forget about that debt and just concentrate on resting and getting better.

Why unfair? Is unfortunate yes but he did cost the uni during his time their, who else should pick up the tab?

  • couldn't you transfer your credits and finish the degree via the OU where you could study from home?
