Hey sometimes the best solution is not always the cheapest and I say this happily on MSE0

I don't recommend Sainsbury's non-acetone remover. It's fine for normal nail polish but if you use glittery top coat it removes everything but the glitter itself.0

well just been to Home Bargains and picked up easy nails fast and fruity nail polish remover. a sponge in a pot for 85p for 50ml and worked a dream. And that was with 2 coats on.
Took less than 2 mins to remove all polish from all 10 fingers!!!!!!!
So no more bottle and cotton wool pads.

I avoid several of my polishes as the removal is just exhausting...
You need to set aside a little time, say 20 minutes.
Cut cotton pads in 4 -6 pieces (depending on size of nails), cut some squares of kitchen foil about 3" x 3"
Wet cotton pieces place on nail and make a neat doubled over parcel with foil securing pads to nails, squeeze it together tightly so it does not leak or let air in.
Have a cuppa, glass of wine etc and sit for about 10 minutes (may need a little longer -trial and error. Polish and glitter should then just swipe off.
NB - with the polish remover pots (I love these but cannot always use because of eczema on fingers) don't use for glitter or you will redistribute glitter from pot to finger nails:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I found that the pots weren't very good on dark/bright colors as it just stained the remover.New to this money saving lark. Any tips greatly received.

I use either Cutex or Cien, Lidl's own brand polish remover which smells of almonds and has a fantastic pump dispenser.Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0

I use the bottles of pure acetone from Poundland. Works on just about EVERYTHING. The only thing I do remove slightly differently is glitter. I use a cotton wool bass kind of pulled apart until it is nice and thin. Drench this is acetone, wrap around your nail and then wrap foil over that to keep in in place. Leave it for a few minutes before removing and most of it should come off. Alternatively make a mox of PVA glue and water and use this as a base coat for glitter polishes. You can then just use a cutincle tool to get under the edge of the polish when you want to remove it and the whole thing should just peel off. OPI also do a glitter peel off basecoat but I've not uised it so couldn't tell you how good it is or isnt!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0
